Aim for perfection: capture the untamed beauty of nature, one frame at a time.
I never had an interest in photography or a vision to be a wildlife photographer. The only thing I do know is this. I have learned that it’s important to share what your passions are. My passion is searching for the Wild ponies of Chincoteague, Va and all of the wildlife that surrounds it. Owning a boat tour company on Chincoteague Island that allows me to share the wildlife and tell the stories of our Chincoteague ponies and all the other wildlife that goes with it has become an obsession. The one thing that I didn’t know was taking photographs would change the direction of what I wanted to do!
As I shared the images on social media sites, I was surprised by the way they seemed to resonate with others and the overwhelming encouragement and positive feedback I received from it. It required me to learn new skills and invest in more advanced equipment to achieve the results I wanted. The learning curve has been steep to say the least, but it has brought me much joy and satisfaction along the way.
It’s been quite a journey, and I feel it’s just begun. If someone had told me years ago I would be spending my days tracking animals and photographing wildlife I would have not believed it… but here we are!
